OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Course

Date: January 6 - 7, 2025

Time: 8:00 am to 1:30 pm both days

Instructor: Lisa Brownson, CSP, Safety Source Consultants, Ltd.

This class will be held at the Syracuse Builders Exchange located at 6563 Ridings Rd, Syracuse, NY. We have safety guidelines in place - please be sure to review them. Due to demand, only 4 people per company, unless there are available seats.

Please Be Advised – OSHA requires that cards be sent to the students, if a copy is required, please see the employee for a copy of their completion card. The cost of the course will be $30 per student SBE Member Firms and $50 per student Non-Members. Payments must be received by the First Day of Class. If Paying By Check – Please Make Payable To: Syracuse Builders Exchange and mail to 6563 Ridings Road, Syracuse, NY 13206. Course fees are non-refundable.

Students must attend both days in order to receive their completion card. Please let us know if your employee cannot attend so we can free up their spot. If another employee will replace an employee registered for the class, no problem, please let us know.

SBE Safety Guidelines:

Kindly enter and exit the building through the entrance located at the rear parking lot on the southern end of the building.
Hand sanitizer will be available in the classroom.
Please bring your own writing instruments.

The Builders Exchange will be hosting an exciting welcome reception and “meet and greet” event on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 3-6 PM at the Delta Marriott in downtown Utica. This free event is open to all MVBE member firms, regional architects, and engineers. Light hors d’oeuvres, carving stations and beverages will be served throughout the event, with a special presentation scheduled for approximately 4:30 PM.

The Builders Exchange staff, Board of Directors and professionals who support the Association will also be in attendance, as it is our sincere hope to begin developing new relationships with new member employers, and your employees, for which we serve.

In this course we will be discussing the current fraud trends in Business Banking, including check fraud, ACH and Wire fraud, email impersonation and email compromise. We will review preventative steps to protect your business from fraud, and best practices for implementing solutions to minimize risk going forward.

Presenters for this course will be Martha Quinn, VP Treasury Management Consultant and Jonathan Kalinowski, VP and Business Banking Relationship Manager.

Martha’s banking career has spanned more than 32 years, creating a broad and diverse perspective of the financial services industry. Be prepared to act when emergencies arise. When you understand first aid, you’ll gain the ability to help those in need. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) can help save a life if a person’s breathing or heart stops. When a sudden cardiac arrest event happens, minutes matter. In this course you will learn how to treat and recognize heart attacks, strokes, diabetic emergencies and more.

This course will also speak about first aid for severe bleeding. Serious injury can lead to life-threatening blood loss within minutes, be prepared to provide lifesaving care when the unexpected happens.

This course will be an in-person only session, no virtual attendance. Completion cards are distributed at the close of class. The course will be held at Syracuse Builders Exchange, 6563 Ridings Road, Syracuse, NY 13206. Attendees must be pre-registered to attend.

Time: 8:00 am to 1:30 pm both days

This class will be held at the Community Bank, conference room at 160 Brooks Road, Ste 3, Rome, NY 13441. There will be a 15-minute break, but No lunch break, so class can wrap up early.

The OSHA 10-hour Construction Industry Outreach course helps participants recognize and identify solutions to common safety and health hazards on the job. There is a New York State law requiring most workers on publicly funded construction sites to have the OSHA wallet card proving they have completed the OSHA 10-hour for Construction training course. Many General Contractors and Construction Management firms also require that subcontractors' employees have the 10-hour. Upon completion of the OSHA 10-hour for Construction, you will receive a course completion card that does not expire.
