As has been reported during the past 2 weeks, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced that individuals who have been fully vaccinated no longer need to wear masks or to socially distance while together indoors. Both OSHA and the EEOC have since updated their websites to reference the new CDC policy.

In light of these updates, employers now face certain challenging decisions involving: return to work policies; managing vaccinated and unvaccinated employees in the same workplace; questions regarding mandatory vaccination polices; and asking employees about their individual vaccination status.

Dave and Jon Schwalm from Northeast Dronez will discuss their experiences with drones used in the construction industry. This course will be a Zoom meeting format w/ slides and video. Participants will be encouraged to ask questions and participate in the discussion.

Dave and Jon have been flying drones for over 10 years and are one of the oldest drone service providers in the country. They have certifications in drone flight mastery and 3-D modeling and mapping

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Learning Objective #1: What are drones? How can they be used in the construction industry? Learn how this new technology called drones can replace or supplement old technology on the construction site. Learn about basic drone technology such as aerial drone photography and videography.

Learning Objective #2: Learn about the drone equipment & software that is used in facility, roof, and bridge inspections. Learn about the different cameras that are used such as infrared cameras and 30X zoom cameras.

Learning Objective #3: Learn about drone mapping/modeling – Creating 2D maps and 3D models from aerial pictures via a process called photogrammetry. Learn how this can be used in:

EPA's Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule (RRP) requires that firms performing renovation, repair and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities and pre-schools built before 1978 have their firm certified by EPA (or an EPA authorized state), use certified renovators who are trained by EPA-approved training providers and follow lead-safe work practices.

Anyone who is paid to perform work that disturbs paint in housing and child-occupied facilities built prior to 1978 must be certified. This includes all firms including sole proprietorships. Types of firms covered include Residential property Owners and Managers, General Contractors, Special Trade Contractors such as painters, plumbers, carpenters, and electricians. Activities covered by the rule include any activity that disturbs paint in pre-1978 housing and child-occupied facilities including remodeling and repair/maintenance, electrical work, plumbing, painting preparation, and carpentry window replacement.
