OSHA’s Construction Safety and Health Regulations, Subpart C, 1926.21 Safety Training and Education specifies training for personnel who are required to enter confined spaces. Employees required to enter into confined or enclosed spaces shall be instructed as to the nature of the hazards involved, the necessary precautions to be taken, and the use of protective and emergency equipment required. Students will learn how to comply with specific regulations that apply to work in dangerous or potentially dangerous areas such as, but not limited to, storage tanks, process vessels, bins, boilers, ventilation or exhaust ducts, sewers, underground utility vaults, tunnels, pipelines and open top spaces more than 4 feet in depth.

General Trenching and Excavation rules include keeping heavy equipment away from trench edges, knowing where underground utilities are located, inspections by a competent person, and more. This class will train your employees to be capable of identifying existing and predictable hazards, working conditions that are hazardous, unsanitary or dangerous to employees, as well as some of the corrective measures to eliminate or control such hazards and conditions.

Please Be Advised – There is a Processing Fee for each Student’s Completion Card. This Non-Refundable Fee Must Be Received Or The Completion Card Will Not Be Released To The Student. Payment of $10.00 per student Must Be Received By The First Day Of Class. If Paying By Check – Please Make Payable To: Safety Source Consultants. Please Be Aware OSHA Regulations Prohibit The Instructor From Distributing Completion Cards To Anyone Other Than The Student Present At The Class. Cards Will Not Be Distributed To Employers. Students gain the ability to recognize safety and health hazards and appropriate engineering, administrative, and personal protective equipment controls. Completion also meets the requirements for OSHA 10-Hour training under NYS's existing prevailing rate law for public work of $250,000 or more effective June 18, 2008. OSHA states that training must be delivered in a language employees understand. SBE classes are currently designed for English speaking participants. If an employee is not fluent in English and does not clearly understand English and will not benefit from a class due to the language barrier, the instructor reserves the right to refer that individual to alternative resources for training. Employers may contact the local OSHA office at 315-451-0808 for information on training provided in languages other than English.This course is free to Syracuse Builders Exchange Member firms. Limit of 4 people per company due to demand.
