THURSDAY EVENINGS BEGINNING JANUARY 9, 2020 (THRU FEB 13, 2020)

A 7-session program specifically designed for small companies, including Minority and Women Owned Businesses, working to expand their annual income levels and compete in the upstate NY commercial construction industry. Each session will focus on specific topics that will give you the skills and knowledge to grow your construction company business. Our speakers will present informative and educational material that will give your firm valuable insight and perspective on how to successfully manage a construction business. Sessions will take place on Thursday evenings from 4:30pm-6:30pm beginning January 9, 2020.

DEC Erosion & Sediment Control Course - CLASS FILLED - REGISTRATION CLOSED 2/19/2020 8:30 AM - 2/19/2020 12:30 PM

LIMITED TO 4 PEOPLE PER COMPANY DUE TO DEMAND

Soil disturbing contractors are required to have at least one trained individual on site every day of soil disturbing activity as of May 1, 2010. This DEC mandated 4-hour course is designed to inform individuals responsible for installing or maintaining erosion & sediment control practices in areas such as Construction, Grading, Excavating, Filling, Soil Stockpiling, Demolition, Clear-Cutting, Grubbing and Stump Removal. The card is valid for 3-years from the date of the course. This workshop will be conducted by the OCSWCD with cooperation from the Syracuse Builders Exchange as part of the Storm Water Education program. This storm water training focuses on providing training required to comply with the contractor’s responsibilities under the NYS DEC Construction Activity Permit No: GP-0-08-001. REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS: PRE-REGISTRATION WITH PAYMENT IS REQUIRED ONE WEEK IN ADVANCE OF THE COURSE.

OSHA 10-Hour - February 20 and 21, 2020 - 8:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. both days

Please Be Advised – There is a Processing Fee for each Student’s Completion Card. This Non-Refundable Fee Must Be Received Or The Completion Card Will Not Be Released To The Student. Payment of $10.00 per student Must Be Received By The First Day Of Class. If Paying By Check – Please Make Payable To: Safety Source Consultants. Please Be Aware OSHA Regulations Prohibit The Instructor From Distributing Completion Cards To Anyone Other Than The Student Present At The Class. Cards Will Not Be Distributed To Employers. If A Copy Is Required, Please Have Your Employee Provide One.

Students must attend both days in order to receive their completion card

Students gain the ability to recognize safety and health hazards and appropriate engineering, administrative, and personal protective equipment controls. Completion also meets the requirements for OSHA 10-Hour training under NYS's existing prevailing rate law for public work of $250,000 or more effective June 18, 2008. OSHA states that training must be delivered in a language employees understand. SBE classes are currently designed for English speaking participants. If an employee is not fluent in English and does not clearly understand English and will not benefit from a class due to the language barrier, the instructor reserves the right to refer that individual to alternative resources for training. Employers may contact the local OSHA office at 315-451-0808 for information on training provided in languages other than English.This course is free to Syracuse Builders Exchange Member firms. Limit of 4 people per company due to demand.
