First Aid/CPR/AED Course - November 4, 2020

This course will be held at the Syracuse Builders Exchange classroom. This class is limited to 2 employees per member firm due to demand and smaller class size requirements.

There are some new guidelines to follow and we ask that you please review them carefully.

Temperature checks will be performed upon student’s arrival.
Smaller class sizes to accommodate social distancing.
Attendees of any class must be pre-registered. Anyone not on the pre-registration list will not be admitted. Do not send a replacement unless you notify SBE in advance.
Entrance to the building as well as exiting, will be through the rear doors ONLY. Do not enter or exit through the main front entrance or through our plan room entrance.
Masks are required at all times.
Hand sanitizer will be available in the classroom.
Desks will have a 6’ foot separation to maintain social distancing.

Confined Space Entry Safety Zoom Session

November 5, 2020 - 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Instructor: Lisa Brownson, CPS, Safety Source Consultants, Ltd

The class will cover: the characteristics of permit required confined spaces; related hazards; the duties of entrants, attendants, and entry supervisors; important differences between the general industry and construction confined space standards; and key components of a confined space plan. This is a Zoom session. Participants will need to have the Zoom app downloaded to their device and will be required to view from separate terminals. No group viewings are allowed.

OSHA 10-Hour - November 9 and 10, 2020 - 8:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. both days

FREE to SBE Member Firms ONLY

This class will be held at the Syracuse Builders Exchange located at 6563 Ridings Rd, Syracuse, NY. We have several safety guidelines in place - please be sure to review them. Due to limited class sizes, we are only taking 2 people per company at this time.

Please Be Advised – There is a Processing Fee for each Student’s Completion Card. This Non-Refundable Fee Must Be Received Or The Completion Card Will Not Be Released To The Student. Payment of $10.00 per student Must Be Received By The First Day Of Class. If Paying By Check – Please Make Payable To: Safety Source Consultants. Please Be Aware OSHA Regulations Prohibit The Instructor From Distributing Completion Cards To Anyone Other Than The Student Present At The Class. Cards Will Not Be Distributed To Employers. If A Copy Is Required, Please Have Your Employee Provide One.

Students gain the ability to recognize safety and health hazards and appropriate engineering, administrative, and personal protective equipment controls. Completion also meets the requirements for OSHA 10-Hour training under NYS's existing prevailing rate law for public work of $250,000 or more effective June 18, 2008. OSHA states that training must be delivered in a language employees understand. SBE classes are currently designed for English speaking participants. If an employee is not fluent in English and does not clearly understand English and will not benefit from a class due to the language barrier, the instructor reserves the right to refer that individual to alternative resources for training. Employers may contact the local OSHA office at 315-451-0808 for information on training provided in languages other than English.This course is free to Syracuse Builders Exchange Member firms.
